    มาต่อกันที่ภาคสองของอเมริกันแสลงดีกว่าค่ะ ภาคนี้ขอย้ำเลยค่ะว่าเป็นภาคแห่งความรักเลยทีเดียว ภาคแรกน้องๆคงได้เห็นตัวอย่างๆคร่าวๆของคำแสลงกันไปแล้ว ใครที่ยังไม่ได้อ่านก็ คลิ๊กที่นี่ เพื่ออ่านภาคแรกได้เลยค่ะ ภาคนี้พี่รับรองว่ามีคำเด็ดๆเพิ่มขึ้นในคลังอีกเยอะแน่นอนค่ะ

ฺBabe, Bae (noun) - ที่รัก, เรียกผู้หญิงสวยประมาณว่า "คนสวย"
ถ้าเราเรียกใครว่า babe แปลว่าเราคิดว่ใครคนนั้นเป็นคนที่สวย น่าดึงดูด แต่ต้องระวังนะคะ เพราะผู้หญิงบางคนก็ไม่ชอบถูกเรียกว่า babe เพราะคำนี้ยังหมายความว่าที่รักได้อีกด้วย ใช้เวลาเราเรียกคนรัก เป็นคำน่ารักๆที่ใช้เรียกแฟนได้นะคะ เช่นเดียวกับคำว่า bae (แบ) ซึ่งมีความหมายเหมือนกัน

To have a crush on someone (verb) - ชอบใครบางคน
เวลาเรา have a crush on somebody เป็นความรู้สึกดีๆที่เรามีให้ใครคนนึงและอยากให้เค้าคนนั้นเป็นมากกว่าเพื่อน หรือถ้าใคร have a crush on เรา ก็แปลว่าเค้าชอบเราเหมือนกัน
"I have a crush on Nolan. He is so cute"
"Well, he is dating Susy though"
หรือเราจะใช้คำว่า to be crushing on someone กใช้ได้เหมือนกันนะคะ แต่ว่าส่วนใหญ่คนใช้จะเป็นเด็กๆมากกว่าน่ะค่ะ

"What?! No way! We're just friends"
"Liar! Everyone knows you like him" (Liar - คนขี้โม้)

To dump someone (verb) - ทิ้งใครบางคน
dump ในที่นี้ไม่ได้หมายถึงทิ้งแบบทิ้งขยะ หรือเอาคนไปขว้างใส่ถังขยะอะไรแบบนะคะ 555 dump ในที่นี้คือการทิ้งแฟนค่ะ เรา dump เค้าก็คือเราทิ้งเค้านั่นเองค่ะ แต่ในชีวิตจริงคงมีแต่ I got dumped หรือเค้าทิ้งเรามากกว่าเนอะ :( น่าเศร้า เฮ้อ นอกเรื่องไปไกลเลย มาดูตัวอย่างกันดีกว่าค่ะ จะได้ไม่ฟุ้งซ่าน
"What the hell is wrong with Katie? She has been sitting in the library and crying for an hour."
"Her relationship with her boyfriend is not going good right now. I heard that he had dumped her this morning"
Example :

Ex (noun, adjective) - แฟนเก่า
ปกติน้องๆคงเคยได้ยินกันมาแล้วนะคะว่าการเติม ex ไปข้างหน้าคำนาม ก็เหมือนการเติมคำว่า 'อดีต' ลงไป อย่างเช่น ex-boss อดีตหัวหน้า แต่ถ้าได้ยินคำว่า ex เฉยๆนี่แปลว่า อดีตคู่รักได้อย่างเดียวเลยค่ะ ไม่จำเป็นต้องมีคำว่า boyfriend หรือ girlfriend มาต่อท้าย แต่มีก็ไม่เสียหายอะไรค่ะ แค่มันยาวไป คนอเมริกันขี้เกียจพูด 555 เอาล่ะค่ะ มาดูตัวอย่างกันดีกว่า
Example :
"Who is that cute guy walking down the street?"
"That's Jake. He is my ex!"
Example :
"My ex always sends me messages on Facebook. It is so annoying."
"Tell her or block her then" (บล็อคเลยเหรอ! ใจร้ายจัง T_T)

Friend zone (noun, verb) - สถานะเพื่อน
คำนี้ไม่ใช่คำแสลงซะทีเดียวนะคะ พี่มั้นใจว่าหลายๆคนคงอาจจะเคยพบและเข้าใจอย่างถ่องแท้มาแล้วแน่นอนค่ะ มีคำพูดอยู่ว่า ผู้ชายดีๆมักถูกจัดไว้ให้อยู่สถานะเพื่อน Good guys always get put in the friend zone. ใช่แล้วค่ะ friend zone ตัวนี้คำนามแปลว่าสถานะเพื่อน แต่ก็ยังใช้เป็น verb ได้อีกด้วย เช่น Most guys friend zone themselves. ผู้ชายส่วนมากเอาตัวเองไปอยู่ในสถานะเพื่อนเอง พอจะนึกภาพกันออกแล้ว มาดูตัวอย่างในชีวิตประจำวันกันดีกว่าค่ะ

"Thank you so much for giving me a ride, bro!" (bro เป็นคำย่อของคำว่า brother หรือพี่ชาย)

"Oh crap! I just got friend zoned" (Crap ตรงนี้ไม่ใช่ปู อย่าสับสนกับคำว่า crab เชียวนะคะ crap นี้เป็นคำอุทาน มาจากคำว่า shit! เป็นคำหยาบค่ะ แต่ crap จะหยาบน้อยกว่ามาก)

   แน่นอนค่ะว่าหลักไวยากรณ์ทั่วไปนั้น เราก็คงได้เคยเรียนกันมาบ้างแล้ว แต่คำแสลงก็สำคัญไม่แพ้กันเลยในภาษาอังกฤษ คำแสลงนั้นถูกใช้ทุกวันในภาษาอังกฤษแน่นอนค่ะ การเรียนรู้คำพวกนี้ต้องคอยติดตามบ่อยๆดเ้วย เพราะว่ามักจะมีคำใหม่ๆผุดขึ้นมาเสมอ เอาล่ะค่ะ เรามาดูคำสำคัญทั้ง 5 คำของเรากันก่อนดีกว่าค่ะ
    
Awesome (adj.) - สุดยอด เจ๋ง
คำนี้หลายๆคนน่าจะรู้และคุ้นเคยกันอยู่แล้ว แต่สำหรับคนที่ไม่รู้นะคะ คำนี้เป็นคำที่ใช้บ่อยและสำคัญมากๆเลยทีเดียว วิธีจำคือ เวลาเจออะไรเจ๋งๆก็พูดออกไปเลยค่ะว่า awesome! พูดบ่อยๆเดี๋ยวเราก็จำได้เองค่ะ แต่ถ้าขี้เกียจดูคำนี้ไว้ให้ผ่านๆตาก็ยังดี ยังไงมาดูตัวอย่างกันดีกว่าค่ะ

Example :
"What do you think of the Avengers?"
"It was awesome! I loved it!"
Example :
"I'll give you a ride tonight, okay?"
"Awesome!!"

Cool (adj.) - ดี เยี่ยม โอเค
คำนี้ก็เป็นอีกหนึ่งคำที่ใช้บ่อยมาก คำนี้นอกจะจะหมายความว่าดีหรือเยี่ยมแล้ว ยังใช้เวลาเราเห็นด้วยกับไอเดียที่คนพูดพูดมาก็ได้ค่ะ แต่ต้องระวังนะคะ เพราะความหมายเดิมที่แท้จริงของคำว่า cool แปลว่า เย็น อย่าสับสนกันเชียว ต้องดูบริบทรอบๆให้ดีมากๆเลยล่ะค่ะ

Example :
"Did you see Sarah's boyfriend at the party last night?"
"Yeah, he seemed like a cool guy" (เค้าก็ดูเป็นคนดีแหละ เหมือนกันคำว่า nice เลยค่ะ)
Example :
"How is the weather in Chaingmai?"
"It's getting cooler. I think, winter is coming" (อันนี้ใช้ความหมายเดิมที่แปลว่าเย็นเลยนะคะ)


To be beat (adj.) - เหนื่อย ล้าปกติแล้วคำว่า beat นี่เรารู้ความหมายกันว่าแปลว่า ตี ทุบ แต่เวลาเป็นการแข่งขัน เรา beat ใครนี่แปลว่าเราชนะคนคนนั้น FC Barcelona will beat Real Madrid บาเซโลน่าจะชนะรีอัลมาดริด อันนี้สมมุตินะคะ แฟนมาดริดห้ามเคืองกันนะ 555 นอกเรื่องไปไกลแล้วค่ะ กลับมานีกว่า แต่ในที่นี้ความหมายเปลี่ยนแปลงไปอย่างสิ้นเชิงเลยค่ะ verb to be + beat ตัวนี้แปลว่า เหนื่อย อ่อนล้า อ่อนเปลี้ย เพลียแรง พอจะนึกภาพออกใช่มั้ยคะ เอาล่ะค่ะ ไปดูตามอย่างตามเลยดีกว่า
Example :
"Did you see Karlie this morning? She looked really beat"
"I know, she worked all night. She probably didn't sleep at all"
Example :
"Do you wanna go to the club tonight?"
"Nah, I'm beat! and I need to wake up early tomorrrow"

To hang out (verb) - ใช้เวลาว่างกับเพื่อนไปเรื่อยๆ ไม่มีเป้าหมายอะไรพิเศษ
น้องๆอาจจะสงสัยว่าทำไมคำแปลอันนี้ยาวจังเลย 555 ขอบอกเลยค่ะ พี่ว่าอันนี้สั้นแล้วนะ มันหาคำแปลตรงตัวไม่ได้จริงๆ แต่นึกภาพออกจะมั้ยคะ เวลามีใครมาถามว่าไป hang out กันไหม เค้าหมายความว่าไปหาอะไรทำ หาอะไรเล่นเรื่อยๆเปื่อยๆกัน เห็นตัวอย่างแล้วอาจจะช่วยให้นึกภาพออกง่ายขึ้นนะคะ

"Nothing much! Just hanging out with Ray" ในกรณีนี้ตัดคำว่า out ออกก็ได้นะคะ

Wheels (noun) - รถ
อาจจะฟังดูแหม่งๆ wheels มันแปลว่าล้อไม่ใช่เหรอ เอ๊ะหรือเราจำผิด ถูกต้องแล้วค่ะ wheels ปกติแล้วแปลว่าล้อ แต่ในภาษาแสลง wheels แปลว่ารถค่ะ อันนี้ไม่มีอะไรต้องอธิบายมาก ไปดูตัวอย่างกันได้เลยค่ะ
Example :
"Kimmie, can you pick me up at 5?"
"I'm sorry. I don't have my wheels at the moment"

       หลายๆคนอาจจะงงว่าอ้าว มันเข้าไปในหัวตัวเองทำไม เป็นเอเลี่ยนเหรอ? ยังไงเนี่ย ไม่ใช่นะคะ 555 คือยังงี้ค่ะ I'm so in my head  คือนึกภาพเวลาที่น้องๆคิดมาก หัวฟู หมกมุ่น วุ่นวายอะไรทำนองนี้อ่ะค่ะ นั่นแหละค่ะความหมายของมัน แต่ประโยคนี้ไม่ค่อยเห็นใช้กันเท่าไหร่นะคะ คนแต่งเพลงน่าจะแต่งขึ้นมาให้เข้ากับเพลงมากกว่า
       ส่วนประโยคครึ่งหลัง we're out of touch ตรงนี้นี่ก็ค่อนข้างตรงตัวค่ะ เวลาที่เรา be out of something คือเวลาที่เราไม่มีหรือขาดสิ่งนั้น เช่น I'm out of money ข้าไม่มีเงินเลยเอ็ง (ภาษากรุงเก่าทำไม 555) ดังนั้นนะคะ we are out of touch ก็คือเวลาที่เราขาดการสัมผัส สัมผัสกันไม่ได้ หรือเรียกว่าห่างกันนั่นเองค่ะ สรุปตรงนี้นะคะ

ประธาน + Verb to be + out of something
เวลาใช้รูปประโยคแบบนี้ พี่ว่ามันทำให้ทำให้เราดูเท่ขึ้น  สมมุติเราจะบอกเพื่อนว่า เราไม่มีขนมแล้วนะ แทนที่จะบอกว่า
we have no more candy เปลี่ยนเป็น We're out of candy ดูเท่ขึ้นมั้ยคะ หรือ ใช้ว่า
we run out of candy ก็ได้ค่ะ
ทีนี้จะเห็นว่าช่วงท้ายเพลงจะมีคำว่า I'm running out of time น้องๆน่าจะพอเดาออกนะคะ ประโยคนี้รูป present continuous หรือ verb to be + กริยาเติม ing ใช้สื่อว่ากำลังทำ เพราะฉะนั้น

ทำให้เรื่องนี้ค่อนข้างฝังใจชาวอเมริกัน

รู้สึกว่าใช่ รู้สึก ว่านี่แหละมาถูกทาง แต่!ที่เห็นบ่อยๆคือ It doesn't feel right อันนี้สิคะ ใช้บ๊อยบ่อย สมมุติมีคนบอกว่า ตอนกลางคืนให้เดินแก้ผ้าในป่าคนเดียวแล้วจะปลอดภัยจากโจร เพื่อนถามว่าจะลองทำมั้ยคืนนี้ คงไม่มีใครบ้าทำใช่มั้ยคะ ส่วนมากเราก็จะตอบเพื่อนว่า จะบ้าเหรอ Are you crazy? มันไม่ใช่แล้วแหละ มันแหม่งๆนะ It doesn't feel right at all. แปลว่ามันแหม่งๆ ตะหงิดๆ ไม่น่าใช่แล้วแหละ ประมาณนี้ค่ะ  ส่วน at all ที่เติมลงไปท้ายประโยคนี่ไม่มีความหมายอะไรมากค่ะ แค่เน้นประโยคให้ดูแรงขึ้น เหมือนกับภาษาไทย เวลาเราเติมคำว่า 'เลย' ลงไปท้ายประโยคนั่นแหละค่ะ เพิ่มเพื่อย้ำประโยคให้มันดูหนักขึ้นเฉยๆ

ตัวอย่างที่พี่ยกไปคงไม่มีใครเอาไปลองทำใช่มั้ยคะ แต่ก็เนอะ ลองแก้ผ้าเดินกลางป่าดู อาจจะปลอดภัยจริงก็ได้ 555
